GSSCC works continuously with the Silver Spring Regional Center, the Montgomery County Police, and the Urban Crew and Corps to ensure a safe environment in Silver Spring and help with the promotion of safety practices. The Chamber serves on several committees dedicated to monitoring and enhancing garage and pedestrian safety, and participates in the planning of effective way-finding systems for Silver Spring. GSSCC has worked to improve access to businesses for customers and employees. The Chamber was successful in reversing a County Council plan to extend parking enforcement hours for the Silver Spring region, and in defeating a measure that would have taken dollars out of the Silver Spring Parking Lot District and used them to fund bus service elsewhere in the county. The Chamber continues to fight for a friendly environment for businesses. < Back |
