Downtown Silver Spring is designated as an Enterprise Zone by the State of Maryland. As such, businesses who locate or expand in Silver Spring's Central Business District (CBD) may be eligible for tax incentives and other benefits. In addition, businesses which are building or renovating their establishments can take advantage of Silver Spring's Green Tape Zone, a special program which helps speed downtown Silver Spring projects through the permitting and licensing processes.
