GSSCC will be accepting contributions for wounded soldiers and their families at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Those at Walter Reed who are responsible for coordinating donations have informed us that the greatest need is for gift cards – grocery cards, gas cards, cards that can be used at national retailers (since some of the soldiers will be going home for a week or so over the holidays), or gift cards for downtown Silver Spring (available at the management office there). Note: Many of you have asked about donating items of clothing or winterwear, however, according to officials at Walter Reed, they already have more than enough of these items, donated this year by some major corporate sponsors.
